CTL Amedica was founded in 2014 by gathering an accomplished team of industry leaders, and a passionate family of employees. That culmination of talent, in combination with differentiated materials, in-house manufacturing and unparalleled engineering expertise continues to propel our innovation. Our surgical systems are named after prominent artists of years past, who in their times were idealists, mathematicians, engineers, inventors and designers. Much like the artists we admire and the surgeons we serve, CTL Amedica works diligently to combine science, mathematics and the arts in order to create the masterpieces and multifaceted surgical solutions found in each of our spinal fixation systems. Executive Team

Daniel Chon

Founder and CEO

Daniel has over 15 years of executive management experience in science and technology. He cofounded his first healthcare company in 2003 and has been in the medical devices industry since. Chon holds a Biology degree and an MBA in Entrepreneurship. He is focused on innovation and building CTL Amedica into a globally respected company.

Fiona Lazarow

Chief Financial Officer

Fiona has over 30 years of experience in financial management and the medical device industry. At CTL Amedica, she drives success by empowering her finance team. Previously, she held executive roles in manufacturing and franchising. She holds a Commerce degree from the University of Cape Town, is a Chartered Accountant, and a CPA in Texas.

Sean Suh

Chief Technology Officer

Sean has over 23 years of experience in R&D, specializing in orthopedic devices. He has submitted over 100 patents and was recognized as a top spine inventor. Sean holds degrees from Temple and Drexel University. He’s passionate about creativity, empowerment, and serving his community, and is fluent in Korean and Spanish.

Rocky Moncho

Senior Executive of OUS Development

Rocky has over 25 years of executive leadership, with the last 15 years focused on healthcare, particularly in OR technology and services. He directs global expansion initiatives and has served as chairman of Pan African Agriculture Plantations, facilitating key international partnerships.

Jon Suh

Sr. Vice President of R&D and Engineering

Jon has over 25 years of experience in product development and project management across industries like pharmaceuticals, orthopedics, and semiconductors. He leads engineering teams in product design and development and holds more than 100 patents. Jon earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State and Drexel University, respectively.

Joy Mazza

Vice President of Sales and Marketing

With 23 years of experience in medical device sales and leadership, Joy excels in developing sales strategies, leading teams, and building key customer relationships. She collaborates across departments to drive revenue growth and is committed to exploring new opportunities for the company’s continued success.

Emmanuel Mmusetsi

Executive of OUS Business Development:

With over 15 years of experience in strategy, marketing, product development, and management in the telecommunications and financial services industries, Emmanuel has driven innovation and digitalization in Botswana. As a Board Member of the Botswana Fintech Association, he has made significant contributions to fintech and innovation. At CTL Amedica, Emmanuel develops opportunities in Africa, focusing on spine education, training, and brand expansion across the continent.

Gerald Benvie

Director of Operations

Gerald has over 35 years of executive operations experience across industries, including medical devices, automotive, and defense. At CTL Amedica, he focuses on performance improvement, cost reduction, and strategic planning. Gerald has led operations globally and holds Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Supply Chain Manager certifications. He’s passionate about leadership development and volunteering for the Special Olympics.
